La computación en la nube, concepto conocido también bajo los términos servicios en la nube, informática en la nube, nube de cómputo o nube de conceptos, del ingléscloud computing, es un paradigma que permite ofrecer servicios de computación a través de Internet.

En este tipo de computación todo lo que puede ofrecer un sistema informático se ofrece como servicio, de modo que los usuarios puedan acceder a los servicios disponibles "en la nube de Internet" sin conocimientos (o, al menos sin ser expertos) en la gestión de los recursos que usan. Según el IEEE Computer Society, es un paradigma en el que la información se almacena de manera permanente en servidores de Internet y se envía a cachés temporales de cliente, lo que incluye equipos de escritorio, centros de ocio, portátiles, etc.

Usar jQuery 2.0 y seguir dando soporte a IE8 – Miami

Muchos ya sabéis que usar diferentes versiones de jQuery produceen ocasionesconflictos que hacen que la conocida librería JavaScript no funcione bien. Esto normalmente es un problema que se soluciona simplemente teniendo cuidado de no instalarla más de una vez, pero si queremos tener siempre la más actualizada, a partir de la 2.0 habrá que tener cuidado con eso de utilizar una única versión.

En el blog de jQuery anunciaron hace unos meses que esperaban sacar esta versióna primeros de 2013, no mucho después de la 1.9. El 20 de Septiembrelanzaron la 1.8.2, así que supongo que más o menos cumplirán las fechas.

¿Y dónde está el problema si con actualizar a la 2.0 me debería ir bien? Pues en que a partir de esa versión se dejará de dar soporte a las versiones de Internet Explorer 6, 7 y 8.

El argumento principal de los desarrolladores es que los parches que hay que añadir a la librería por causa de estemagnífico navegador, hacen que el fichero sea mucho más pesado de lo deseable y se conoce que los de jQuery se han cansado.


Esto no quiere decir que vayan a dejar sin servicio a los navegadores de Microsoft, ya que son conscientes de que todavía tienen una cuota relevante entre los usuarios. Lo que tienen previsto es que si necesitas atender peticiones de IE8 e inferiores sigas usando la versión 1.9 y si no, pues que uses la 2.0 y siguientes.

Cargar dos librerías no es una solución eficiente en este caso y estancarse en una versión antigua tampoco, pero hay una forma sencilla de mantener ambas versiones operativas y no cargar mas que la necesaria. Para ello, como recuerdan en el blog, podemos usar condicionales.

Podéis usar estas condiciones tanto con las librerías de Google (en el ejemplo) como con ficheros alojados por vosotros mismos. La ventaja de hacerlo de la primera manera es que con un formato como el que se indica, siempre tendremos la versión más moderna de la serie 1 y de la 2 respectivamente, tal y comoCSS Tricks nos reveló hace ya algún tiempo.

Aclarar que apuntar a la versión exacta es más rápido y evita problemas con versiones recién lanzadas que pueden incluir fallos, así que casi mejor usar al menos un par de dígitos (1.8).

Twitter cards. También para Blogger – Criminal – Colleges

Twitter cards es una nueva utilidad de la red del pájaro azul que posibilita la inclusión de contenido extra en los tuits que incluyan un enlace a un sitio web. Ese contenido será mostrado a continuación del graznido como si fuera una tarjeta de visita y puede adoptar tres formatos distintos a elección del administrador: sumario, imagen o multimedia.

También se les llamaTweets Expandidos.

Twitter Card - Summary

Sumario (summary) es la tarjeta por defecto e incluye un título, una descripción, una miniatura y una cuenta de Twitter asociada a la página, tal como se ve en la captura que acompaña este texto.

Las otras dos opciones están pensadas principalmente para fotografías y vídeos respectivamente y aunque aquí nos vamos a centrar en los sumarios por ser probablemente los más útiles para un blog, como curiosidad a continuación podéis ver cómo quedarían esos otros dos.

Twitter Card - Media

Aunque fue por el mes de Junio cuando Twitter presentó este servicio, todavía no está operativo para todos, ni para mostrarlos ni para verlos, pero nunca viene mal tener preparadas nuestras plantillas para cuando se extienda y así no tener que ir corriendo después.

Además para lo primero se puede solicitar la inclusión en el programa como veremos después... y cruzar los dedos. Esto es porque según cuentan enla página de documentación, de momento están buscando sitios con "gran contenido" y usuarios muy activos en Twitter.

Advierto también que como la utilidad está en desarrollo, podría ocurrir que en determinados navegadores o terminales móviles las tarjetas se vieran mal o directamente no se vieran. No hay que preocuparse por ello si todo lo que viene a continuación se hace bien.

Para que esto funcione lo principal es que la dirección que incluye el tuit tenga ciertos datos marcados en un formato que Twitter pueda identificar para leer.

Como descubrí un plugin para WordPress que hace esta tarea automáticamente, para variar ahí va el enlace para sus usuarios:Twitter Cards para WordPress. Para los de Blogger habrá que realizar la tarea a mano.

Pero tranquilos que es muy fácil. Para seguir un orden, tenemos que hacer lo siguiente:

1. Incorporar a las entradas descripciones individuales

Los sumarios se crearán a partir de ladescripción de búsqueda que hayamos grabado en el correspondiente post cuyo enlace se haya compartido por Twitter, por lo que es imprescindible que esta exista.

Estas descripciones se pueden incorporar desde el editor de entradas y aparece en el menú de la derecha. Son muy convenientes para que los buscadores sepan qué se van a encontrar en la entrada y sobre todo para evitar las descripciones duplicadas.

Si no lo estábamos haciendo antes de leer esto, no se trata de que actualicemos todas las que ya tengamos publicadas -que sería lo óptimo- pero al menos sí que hay que ir haciéndolo con los nuevos posts. Así al menos estarán bien las entradas con más posibilidades de ser tuiteadas, las más nuevas.

2. Incluir etiquetas META

Esto es lo que Twitter necesita para saber qué información se corresponde con el título del post, miniatura, autor, etc. Este código hay que insertarlo antes de/head (o antes de la apertura del SKIN):

Antes de grabar no olvidéis que hay que sustituirTU_USUARIO_TWITTER por vuestra cuenta Twitter.

3. Comprobar que todo funciona bien

Con lo anterior ya tenemos la plantilla preparada, pero antes de dar el tema por cerrado podemos hacer una comprobación

Esto se hace con la herramienta deVista previa Twitter card. Pinchando en el enlace e introduciendo la dirección de cualquier post, podréis ver cómo quedaría la cosa en Twitter.

No podéis usar la página principal del blog ni una entrada que no tenga la descripción de búsqueda grabada, esa que comentamos en el paso 1.

4. Solicitar el alta en el programa de tuits expandidos

Como comenté por allá arriba, de momento no está generalizada esta aplicación, así que si además de tener nuestro blog preparado queremos ver los tweets marcados con este formato (propios o ajenos), habrá que inscribirse.

El enlace esParticipar en Twitter Cards y allí nos pedirán una serie de datos que en este mismo orden son:

• nombre a efectos de registro
• dirección de correo idem
• usuario Twitter idem
• dirección del sitio (sin http)
• breve descripción del sitio
• usuario Twitter asociado al sitio
• una página cualquiera en la existan etiquetas para Twitter Cards tipo sumarios

Las dos siguientes sólo habrá que rellenarlas si usaste alguno de los otros tipo de tarjetas.

Por cierto que en lapágina de documentación se pueden ver cuáles serían las etiquetas necesarias para usar estos otros dos casos. Para Blogger habría que usaretiquetas DATA de forma similar a como hemos visto.

Cinta realista con CSS – Automovil – School

En esta ocasión vamos a ver la forma de hacer con CSS una especie de banderín para un rótulo, pero añadiendo efectos de degradados y algunas sombras con el fin de que el resultado tenga algo más de realismo queotras que construimos anteriormente.

Como no podía ser de otra manera, vamos a usar:after y:before para poder ir añadiéndole cosas y así conseguir los detalles que nos ofrecerán el resultado que veis a la derecha.


El HTML sería este: una clase para el cuerpo principal, otra para la barra y un contenedor de todo el conjunto.

Comenzamos por formar el cuerpo principal con las medidas deseadas y un degradado con varios puntos de cambio que darán la sensación de que la cinta está algo ondulada.

Para esto último me vino bien tener a manoUltimate CSS Gradient Generator, utilidad que además nos permite incorporar compatibilidad para casi todos los navegadores. Aquí por no ser muy extenso sólo incluí el estándar, pero en el fuente podéis ver que usé más prefijos para la demo del final.

Para añadir la capa correspondiente a la parte inferior, usamos:before y damos estilo para generar cuatro triángulos juntos, tres opacos y uno transparente. Esto se explicó con más detalle en un post anterior sobrecómo hacer triángulos CSS. Ahora sólo hacemos transparente el inferior y los demás serán del color del extremo de la caja principal.

Como veis, contop lo desplazamos bajo su contenedor padre (cintaver) tanto como mida el alto de este. El ancho de los bordes que generan los triángulos será la mitad del ancho total que necesitamos.

Ahora con un:after y posicionando absolutamente, añadimos otra parte más que es la quepinta los pespuntes laterales y el texto. En elcontent irá el texto que queremos mostrar y las puntadas de hilo los simulamos con bordes discontinuos a derecha e izquierda (dashed).

La altura total de estos elementos será la suma de la caja principal y la del extremo (los triángulos añadidos con:before). El ancho será un poco menor para que estos elementos queden dentro de la cinta y no lleguen a los bordes, desplazándolos con un pequeñoleft para situarlos centrados.

Ya casi estamos. Lo que hacemos ahora es dar propiedades al contenedor general con el ancho y alto del conjunto, centrando e incorporando un margen inferior para salvar el tamaño de la punta de la cinta que sacamos del flujo normal.

Y a continuación una sombra que arranque tras la barra que pondremos al final y que una vez más añadimos con:before. Si no ponemos barra habrá que corregir eltop y la altura para que ocupen todo el alto.
