Sección herramientas. Conversores: RGB-HEX y HTML-TXT – Plataforma

Hace unos días inauguramos un nuevo apartado en el blog que por la influencia del calor y de las vacaciones (o del frío y del laboro, depende de la latitud), probablemente ha pasado desapercibido.

Se trata de una serie de páginas que hemos englobado dentro de otra a modo de índice y que hemos denominadoHerramientas Online. Actualmente podéis ver el enlace en la parte de abajo a la izquierda del blog.

De momento no hay muchas, pero a medida que vaya visitando los sitios que normalmente utilizo, no dudéis que allí irán a parar. Para mí será una buena chuleta y espero que para vosotros también lo sea.

Hay un par de enlaces que van a otras tantas utilidades marca de la casa y hechas en JavaScript en parte por necesidad y en parte por divertimento, pero pensé que con unos pocos ajustes de estilo quizás servirían para otros y ahí están.

Si se me ocurre hacer algunas más las iré incorporando en el mismo apartado, pero de momento son sólo dos...

HTML a texto plano

Esta es una de las cosas que más echaba de menos.

Publicar código tiene la complicación de que si lo pegas tal cual en cualquier entrada, el navegador interpreta las etiquetas HTML y no se visualiza nada. Al contrario, incluso puede desbarajustar todo el aspecto del blog dependiendo del código que sea.

Es casi lo mismo que ocurre cuando en un comentario queréis explicar qué hicistéis con vuestro blog, pegando en el casillero el código HTML que usasteis. La diferencia es que en este último caso lo que ocurre es que el código desaparece del comentario. Medidas de seguridad de Blogger... supongo.

Pero la solución es bastante sencilla, ya que es suficiente con eliminar los símbolos y y el navegador lo interpreta como texto normal. Pero claro, esto a veces lleva a confusión, así que casi mejor sustituimos esos símbolos por entidades queimprimen esos caracteres pero que no son realmente ellos. Sólo es para que se vean.

En el caso de los dos mencionados, las entidades correspondientes son < y >, así que el script lo único que hace es sustituir los símbolos por las entidades. Se pega allí, se convierte, se copia la traducción dónde corresponda y asunto resuelto.

Algunas veces lo que estorban son las comillas, así que hay un segundo casillero para realizar esta tarea. Si se quieren simultanear ambas sólo hay que pasar por uno y después por el otro.

Espero que a partir de ahora ya no tengáis problemas. Cuando queráis pegar código en un comentario sólo tenéis que pasar primero por el conversor y listo.

Colores RGB a Hexadecimal y viceversa

Este conversor es quizás menos necesario, pero alguna vez también me hubiera venido bien tener uno a mano.

Lo que hace este conversor es simplemente transformar los códigos de colores hexadecimales (por ejemplo #ff00ff) a sus equivalentes en formato RGB (255,0,255).

Aquí no hay ningún secreto para los que controlen un poco los sistemas de numeración. El script lo único que hace es separar de dos en dos los números hexadecimales (ff-00-ff) y pasarlos a sus homólogos en base decimal (255-0-255).

También hace el camino contrario permitiéndonos conocer el código hexadecimal de un color en formato RGB y adicionalmente muestra el color tecleado ¿A qué es muy mono?

Lo más habitual es usar sólo hexadecimal para los colores, pero en alguna ocasión nos viene bien aplicar transparencia y ahí lo más fácil es usar RGB. La propiedad sería algo así:

color: rgba(255,125,0,.5);

Los tres primeros valores representan respectivamente la proporción de rojo, verde y azul en el resultado final, siendo 0 ninguno y 255 el valor máximo (#FF).

Y el cuarto parámetro es el interesante, pues es el que indica el nivel de transparencia. Puede tomar cualquier valor entre 0 y 1 ambos inclusive, siendo 0 totalmente transparente y 1 totalmente opaco. En el ejemplo figura un .5 o lo que es lo mismo, trasparencia al 50%.

Navegando, Promoción

Premios Bitacoras, again... Edición 2012 – Plataforma – Culture

Pues como es habitual por estas fechas,los Premios Bitacoras comienzan a rodar. Ayer fue presentada la que es ya su octava edición y desde hoy mismo puedes votar por tus candidaturas favoritas en las categorías que mejor consideres de entre las 18 que dependen del público.

Para hacerlo es necesario estar registrado enbitacoras.com o hacer login con tu cuenta de Facebook o Twitter. A continuación ya podrás votar cuando quieras (máximo 9 de noviembre),hasta 5 blogs por categoría, pudiendo incluir a un mismo blog hasta en dos apartados distintos. Piensa que algunas bitacoras son difícilmente clasificables o incluso responden a varias temáticas simultáneamente y por ello resulta útil esta opción.

Otro dato es que no tienes que realizar todos los votos en una sola sesión, sino que puedes ir añadiendo sitios según vayas decidiendo. Las candidaturas son absolutamente libres por lo que puedes incluir (votar) cualquier dirección de cualquier blog que te guste, incluso aunque el administrador no sepa de la existencia de estos premios. Para mí la principal ventaja es que ofrecen una oportunidad inigualable de conocer quién hay detrás de cada sitio, de ponerle cara a gente que conoces sólo por su nick y sobre todo, de poderte encontrar en persona con ellos intercambiando incluso unas palabras si el momento se presta.

Twitter trackbacks. Mostrar menciones a un post – Accident – Service

Desde Junio de 2013 Twitter ha dejado de dar soporte a la versión 1 de su API que es la que usa este gadget, así que ya no funciona. Si sigues necesitando publicar tus últimos tweets de manera personalizada, aquí tienesotro sistema.

Este es un interesante cacharrito desarrollado porMore Tech Tips y hecho con JavaScript aprovechando la API deTopsy.

Con él podemos incrustar en cualquier parte del blog los tweets que incluyen un enlace a la página que se está visualizando. El aspecto del gadget se puede personalizar y cada tweet mostrado incluye los típicos enlaces para respuestas yretweets.

Además, una serie de variables nos permitirán cambiar también la manera en que aparecen los tweets: en modo rotador con fade entre mensajes, múltiples tweets al mismo tiempo o incluso foto fija en plan lista.

El código del script está disponible para descargar en este enlace deGoogle Code en versión comprimida o normal, aunque la más extensa sólo pesa 6,4KB.

La forma de instalarlo es simple:

1. Añadir jQuery a la plantilla antes del/head (si ya lo tenéis, este paso hay que saltarlo):

2. Dónde queráis que aparezcan los tweets se incluye una capa con clasetwitter-trackbacks con sólo un texto que se verá mientras dure la carga y a continuación la llamada al script principal. Todo esto se podría poner en elpost-header,post-footer o incluso como gadget en la barra lateral:

Se ha incluido aquí la dirección directa de Google Code, pero conviene que descargueis el fichero .js y sustituyáis esa dirección por la vuestra para que todo quede bajo control.

Con eso ya podremos ver los trackbacks procedentes de Twitter pero sin ningún formato, por lo que mejor vamos a nuestro CSS e incluimos allí unas cuantas propiedades. Este es sólo un ejemplo y espero que con los comentarios sobre lo que hace cada clase podáis integrarlo sin problemas con la estética de vuestro blog:

Para cambiar el formato del artilugio podéis añadir unos parámetros dentro de la capa con clasetwitter-trackbacks como se muestra a continuación. Este primero es para un rotador con 3 tweets por pasada:

url: ver tweets de una página concreta (por defecto la visitada)
n: número de tweets máximos a cargar
show_n: número de tweets por tanda (con 0 no habrá transicion y mostrará una lista fija)
stay_time: pausa entre cada tanda en milisegundos

Si usáis esta variante no olvidéis incrementar el height deul.ttw-inner (174px para tres tweets) y ajustar tambiénul.ttw-inner li con algún margen, altura y sobre todo unoverflow:hidden adicional. Ejemplo de esa última clase para el caso de triple tweet:

¿Desactivar navbar? Ni se te ocurra – Lincoln

Pues eso, que quizás has visto la nueva opción que hay en el apartadoDiseño, dentro del bloqueBarra de Navegación y has pensado "Esta es la mía"; por fin una simple casilla de verificación para ocultar la Navbar.

Y además resolviendo de paso algunas eternas dudas, porque si Google me facilita esto es porque efectivamente se puede quitar sin miedo a que me sancionen, me dejen el blog sin imágenes o me apliquen algún otro castigo parecido.

Efectivamente Google no va a poner pegas si quitamos la navbar y además ahora es lo más fácil del mundo, pero...pero de momento mejor que esperes, porque como con otras novedades Blogger, la cosa trae efectos colaterales.

Primero lo leí enVagabundia, dónde Jorge avisaba de la novedad y ya daba un toque de atención, porque resulta que cuando se desactiva la famosa barrita,desaparecen los enlaces de edición rápida.

Posteriores comentarios confirmaban el problema y hacían referencia a ese mismo problema desde al menosfinales de Julio.

Hoy me llega otra comunicación de un lector (José Félix) que ha comprobado que tras deshabilitar la barra,el Diseñador de plantillas le funciona de aquella manera, es decir mal: puede entrar en él, modificar algunas cosas, pero muchas no pitan. Ni se aprecian los cambios enVista Previa ni se aplican realmente en el blog.

Lo peor de todo es que cuando intentaba volver a hacer visible la Navbar, está seguía inactiva y los problemas generados tras su eliminación también se mantenían.

Conclusión: La Navbar de momento ni tocarla... a menos que sea sólo con CSS.

Y es que un buendisplay:none; hace maravillas.

Navegando

La historia de HTML5. Infografía – Curso – Justicia

Una historia muy resumida del ordenador y del código de programación que hizo posible la difusión de páginas web por la Red.

Esta infografía refleja los hitos más importantes de ese mundo virtual, mediante una línea temporal que se correlaciona con algunos eventos populares que sucedieron simultáneamente en el mundo real.

Se trata de una demostración gráfica de cómo las computadoras e Internet llevan mucho tiempo influyendo en nuestras vidas. De hecho, las primeras ideas para montar una red de información global se remontan a cuando muchos nos preguntábamos "¿Quién mató a J.R.", el conocido protagonista de la serie de TVDallas, allá por 1980.

Hace prácticamente cuatro días (1995), Microsoft lanza la primera versión del~~tristemente~~ famoso Internet Explorer, al mismo tiempo que O.J. Simpson era declarado "no culpable" ocupando innumerables minutos y páginas en los medios informativos.

Un camino de vuelta en todo de humor, hacia para ver cómo Internet ha llegado a ser lo que hoy es.
